Rockwall, Texas – April 4, 2025 – Dallas-based MYCON General Contractors, Inc. (MYCON) has officially broken ground on a new 109,226-square-foot IKEA store in Rockwall, Texas. This marks MYCON’s second project with the national retailer, further strengthening a valued partnership. The new store will become the third IKEA location in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, expanding IKEA’s regional presence and accessibility across North Texas.

Strategically located with direct access to major highways connecting Dallas to Texarkana and Little Rock, IKEA Rockwall will offer increased accessibility for North Texas residents and beyond.

“Breaking ground on this new IKEA project is a proud moment for MYCON,” said Jason Meuth, Vice President at MYCON General Contractors. “It’s a testament to the trust our partners place in us and the dedication of our team to deliver excellence in every phase of construction. We’re excited to bring this project to life and contribute to IKEA’s continued growth in Texas.”

The new store will feature multiple fully furnished room settings designed to reflect “local living” solutions, showcasing home design ideas that meet the unique everyday needs of Rockwall residents and surrounding communities. In addition to its functional and immersive layout, IKEA Rockwall is also being designed with sustainability in mind.

The project will incorporate solar power, LEED-certified construction, EV charging stations, onsite recycling, and native plant materials to reduce water consumption—demonstrating IKEA’s and MYCON’s shared commitment to environmental responsibility.

Construction is scheduled to begin immediately and is expected to be completed December 2025.
